About AMSCI
American Metals Supply Chain Institute
Advocating for the metals supply chain
The American Metals Supply Chain Institute (AMSCI) leverages the combined experience and influence of metals manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, and users to serve and advance the industry. As the only trade association representing the entire supply chain in the United States for steel, aluminum and other metals, AMSCI holds an essential place in the manufacturing sector, providing its members, both domestic and international, with legislative and regulatory advocacy, educational and informational programs, market research, and networking opportunities.
AMSCI grew out of the American Institute for International Steel, which, for 70 years, served as the leading and most effective voice for the far-reaching economic benefits of free trade in the global steel market. The newly broadened scope and membership enables the Institute to extend its reach and impact as it supports and promotes policies and practices that benefit its members, strengthen the metals supply chain, and boost the economy.
